Michael C. Mallea, MD is an Idaho native from Caldwell Idaho and has been practicing in Boise since 1996. Dr. Mallea was educated at Idaho State University, University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his nephrology fellowship training at the University of Washington.

Dr. Mallea’s main goal is to deliver compassionate and clinically superior care based on evidence-based medicine to achieve optimal outcomes.

Dr. Mallea has a special interest in vascular access and peritoneal dialysis but enjoys all aspects of consultative nephrology.

Dr. Mallea is currently medical director of the following dialysis units: Home Program at DaVita Tablerock Dialysis and Nampa DaVita Dialysis Center. He is also the Medical Director at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, Acute Dialysis.

Dr. Mallea enjoys his family, gardening and bird watching in his spare time.

Nicholas Hunt MD has been in practice in Boise since 2001. He received his MD from Washington University and completed residency training and chief resident year at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Hunt completed his fellowship in renal disease and hypertension at the University of Colorado in Denver, and then began his practice in Boise.

Dr. Hunt enjoys all aspects of consultative nephrology. He appreciates the long-term connection he develops with his patients through managing their illness. He has a special interest in difficult to control hypertension, fluid and electrolyte disorders, glomerulonephritis, kidney transplantation, and management of advanced chronic kidney disease without dialysis.

Dr. Hunt is currently medical director of the DaVita Tablerock Boise Dialysis, Caldwell DaVita Dialysis, and the renal consult service at the Boise VA medical center. You will often see him teaching medical students and residents who spend time at Idaho Nephrology as part of their medical education. He has received numerous awards including Consultant of the Year from the family medicine residency and Idaho emergency physicians. Dr. Hunt also received the University of Washington Department of Medicine WWAMI Excellence in Teaching Award, and Alpha Omega Alpha distinguished volunteer faculty award.

In his time off, Dr. Hunt enjoys traveling the world, photography, running and biking, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Heather is an Idaho native, graduating from The College of Idaho prior to completing her medical education at Midwestern University PA Program in 1999.  She has had the opportunity to reside in other states, returning to Idaho in 2003.  Heather worked at the Boise VA Medical Center for 6 years in Primary Care Internal Medicine where she earned a reputation for clinical excellence and dedication to her patients. She joined Idaho Nephrology Associates in 2011, after working  alongside Nicholas Hunt, M.D. in the Boise VA nephrology clinic for the three years prior.    Medically, she enjoys the complexity of the nephrology patient including new patient consults, follow up and management of the full spectrum chronic kidney disease, and the dialysis phase at DaVita Dialysis centers.  She is respected for her outstanding clinical skills and dedication to patients. Heather has a passion for medicine. Outside of work she enjoys running, academic and casual reading, developing her cooking skills and treasures time with her family of four. 

Chris is a native of Minnesota and received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. He then completed the MSN/Family Nurse Practitioner program at Vanderbilt University and has been in practice since 2002. He worked at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington before moving to Boise, where he received exposure to a wide complexity of medical issues. He has most recently worked at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center on the Diabetes Service and has interests in diabetic nephropathy and chronic kidney disease. He joined Idaho Nephrology in 2011.Chris is a big baseball fan. He likes to trail run in the Boise foothills and is always training for a marathon. He enjoys traveling with his wife and reading.

Diane is the Idaho Nephrology Associates Office Manager. She has been with the group since 1990. She will go above and beyond to meet your needs. She is admired for her kindness and loyalty to INA's mission.
Diane enjoys cooking, long walks, and, of course, her grandchildren.

Ashley Wright, LPN assists the Idaho Nephrology physician team. She works closely with all of INA's patients and physicians to coordinate excellent care. Feel free to call them with your health-related questions.

In her spare time, Ashley enjoys baseball, spending time with her boyfriend and dog.

Marie is INA's billing manager. She is a certified coder and an accountant. Marie can address questions related to billing and insurance.

Marie is passionate about her children, her 3 grandchildren and her dogs.

Christina is INA's front desk/medical assistant. She is the newest member of the INA team and looks forward to meeting you.

Christina likes to crochet and cook. She also is the proud mother of a 15 year old teenage son.
