NICHOLAS HUNT, MD

Nicholas Hunt MD has been in practice in Boise since 2001.

He received his MD from Washington University and completed residency training and chief resident year at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Hunt completed his fellowship in renal disease and hypertension at the University of Colorado in Denver and then began his practice in Boise.

Dr. Hunt enjoys all aspects of consultative nephrology. He appreciates the long-term connection he develops with his patients through managing their illness. He has a special interest in difficult-to-control hypertension, fluid and electrolyte disorders, glomerulonephritis, kidney transplantation, and management of advanced chronic kidney disease without dialysis.

Dr. Hunt is currently medical director of the DaVita Table Rock Dialysis, Syringa Home Program Dialysis, DaVita Fruitland Dialysis and oversees the renal consult service at the Boise VA medical center. You will often see him teaching medical students and residents who spend time at Idaho Nephrology as part of their medical education.

He has received numerous awards including Consultant of the Year from the family medicine residency and Idaho emergency physicians. Dr. Hunt also received the University of Washington Department of Medicine WWAMI Excellence in Teaching Award twice, and Alpha Omega Alpha distinguished volunteer faculty award.

In his time off, Dr. Hunt enjoys traveling the world, photography, running and biking, cooking, and spending time with his family.
